ScanMyEstimate is committed to complete consumer privacy. Our platform is architected from the ground up to evaluate mechanical repair estimates without collecting, retaining, or selling your personal information.
2. What We Scrub at the Edge
When you submit a digital repair estimate link (e.g. Tekmetric authorization links), our Cloudflare edge function permanently redacts the following personal identifiable information (PII) before analysis:
- Customer full names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.
- Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) and license plate identifiers.
- Internal shop customer IDs and repair order nonces.
- Technician and service advisor personal names or internal notes.
3. Data We Analyze
We analyze only objective vehicle and repair data necessary to benchmark labor operations against published standards:
- Vehicle year, make, model, and engine variant.
- Itemized repair operations, requested labor hours, and quoted dollar amounts.
- Itemized replacement part descriptions, brand names, and retail prices.
- General regional shop municipality (city, state, ZIP code) to determine regional flat rates.
4. Zero Third-Party Sharing and No Sale of Data
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or broker your personal information. We never notify your repair shop or mechanic that an audit was performed. All audits are 100% confidential.
5. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA / CPRA) Compliance
Under the CCPA and CPRA, California consumers have the right to know what information is processed, request deletion, and opt out of data sales. Because we do not store customer PII in any persistent database, your personal data is scrubbed instantly at the edge upon ingestion.
